About Carmarthen BID
Carmarthen Town BID was established in April 2020 after consultation and a successful ballot by the businesses in the defined BID area. The BID is financed by a small levy on the businesses rates of those businesses in the qualifying area of town and is collected by the County Council Rates team for onward transmission to the BID company.
The BID company is managed by a Board of Directors who identify challenges and provide solutions and interventions to improve the performance of the businesses within its remit.
Four principal areas or pledges were identified as priority by Wavehill Consultants who conducted a large feasibility study prior to the Business Improvement District being formed.
The Four Pillars:-
The BID has an operational Baseline Agreement with the County Council which ensures that the BID does not overlap or carry out any of the functions carried out by the Council as part of the services they offer.
In essence the Business Improvement District is operated and funded by the business community for the benefit of the business community and its success will be directly proportional to the engagement and involvement of the businesses in Carmarthen Town.
